Getting back to it

In the last two weeks, so much has happened that I wouldn’t know where to begin should I write about everything here. I’m not going to, of course. This is not a personal blog, and even if it was, I still wouldn’t write it all for everyone to see. Suffice it to say that there has been major upheaval, and I am only now beginning to get back to it as far as A.K.R. Designs goes. There is still a lot going on that is taking up my time, but I am at the point now where I can begin devoting time to my designs again.

So with all of that said, please check back in the coming weeks. I’m planning to release a new knitwear design (which was woefully rejected by Knitty), and hopefully some new stitch markers will pop up in there somewhere (like the Trios I mentioned in the March newsletter).

“Treading Dawn” Scarf now on Ravelry

ABOUT THIS PATTERN

This scarf was inspired by an inspiration. First, Rebekah of Maiden Yarn & Fiber created a yarn colorway inspired by the latest Narnia movie, Voyage of the Dawn Treader. I saw it and bought it right away. Then I had her custom dye me a skein of Cascade Venezia Worsted to match. And it’s that yarn that inspired this scarf. I whipped it up super fast and was really excited with the results. I decided that I had to share it on Ravelry.

And so I give you, without further ado, Treading Dawn.

“Simplicity” Hat

My sister just designed a crochet hat to match her fingerless gloves, which are both available on my Ravelry pattern store. Make sure you check back soon, as she’s also designed some matching slippers, which will also be available on Ravelry soon!
